Joanne Mildenhall is a contemporary printmaker based in Adelaide, South Australia, and is an integral part of the local printmaking community. The work of Mildenhall is deeply rooted in a connection with nature, memory and visceral experience. Her work is based in the medium of printmaking, and explores multiple techniques or processes, manifesting in beautiful prints and installations. Currently, Mildenhall’s work is progressing into deeply interrogating our place and relationship with nature, as well as her own inherent connection with it.

For South Australian Living Artists festival (SALA) 2018, I exhibited a collection of work with an amazing female collective, which I curated with the assistance of Martha Dimitriou, showing at Rain Moth Gallery in Waikerie. The works all center around themes of connection with the land, history and nature of the area. My own work provides a personal commentary on the symbiosis between Indigenous Australian cultural values and those of my Greek heritage, as well as the interconnections between humans and nature.
